WHO recommends 6 teaspoons sugar daily: 1 tsp sugar = 4 gm Recommended maximum total sugar daily = 24 gm )
Its not recommended to use artificial sweeteners otherwise your taste and your drive will still look for sweet foods. Its important in the longterm to move your appetite away from sweet foods.
Where is the sugar in the average diet: 1/3 sugar consumed is in fruit juices & sweet drinks (fizzy) 1/2 is hidden in manufactured foods (low fat yoguts/ ice cream/ flavoured milk drinks/ cakes / pastries / breads / sauces /muesli bars / chocolates / lollies / packaged foods)
Please read package labels carefully. Try recording the amount of sugar you eat daily: count the sugar content (gm daily) on food labels.
